Day 1 Tarangire National Park - Elephants and Big cats of Tarangire River

Your safari adventure begins with a scenic two-hour drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, you’ll be greeted by the sight of endless golden savannahs stretching out before you, framed by the iconic baobab trees. Tarangire is home to a large elephant population, and you’ll have the opportunity to observe these majestic creatures up close as they visit the park’s life-giving river. You’ll also have the chance to spot other wildlife such as lions, leopards, cape buffalo, and a variety of antelopes.

Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch with a view of the river, and keep an eye out for the local monkey population who may try to steal your lunch! After lunch, continue your game drive through the park, with a chance to see endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu or the Fringe-Eared Oryx. In the evening, retire at Tarangire Baobab Tented Campfor a comfortable and peaceful night’s sleep.

You’ll have the chance to observe and photograph some of Africa’s most recognizable faces, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas.
