Day Trip to Arusha National Park
Tour Duration: Full-day (Approx. 8–10 hours)
Departure Time: 7:30 AM from Arusha/Moshi
Return Time: 5:30 PM
Walk freely alongside the wildlife of Tanzania and visit unique sights. A great way to start your Safari Experience. At the foot of Mount meru lies Arusha National Park. A beautiful park, famous for its green surroundings, lakes, unique sights and its black and white colubus monkey. A walking safari is an unique and thrilling experience and a chance to be up-close with wild animals, face to face. Something that is only possible in a few national parks.
Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup in Arusha. Drive through scenic landscapes towards Arusha National Park, located just 40 minutes away. Experience a thrilling game drive through lush forests, open savannahs, and stunning volcanic landscapes. Spot giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, and various antelope species. Stop at the breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the Ngurdoto Crater, often referred to as the “Little Ngorongoro.” Step out of the vehicle for a guided walking safari—an exclusive opportunity to track wildlife on foot with an armed ranger. Observe giraffes, buffaloes, and monkeys in their natural habitat. Visit the tranquil Momella Lakes, home to flamingos and hippos. Optional canoeing experience is available for an extra adventure. Enjoy a packed lunch in a scenic spot with panoramic views of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak. Another chance to explore different sections of the park before heading back to Arusha.
Tanzania offers incredible wildlife experiences year-round, but the best time depends on your interests.
