Tour Details

Machame is one of the most popular routes on Kilimanjaro, and for good reason. It takes you from dense, mossy rainforest, across the Shira Plateau, up to the volcanic Lava Tower, then down again to the valley of Barranco. This “climb high, sleep low” pattern is excellent for altitude adaptation. The famous Barranco Wall, a short scramble, is a highlight for many trekkers.

The 7-day itinerary gives you an extra night for acclimatisation and a more comfortable pace. If your schedule is tight, we also offer a 6-day version.
